Net Promoter Score Failures and Blame Gamers

In this world most often whenever something which is breakthrough comes out there are no shortages of people kicking it all over the place and trying to push it down as hard as possible instead of trying to spend some time and understand the concept completely , using it correctly and then sharing the results.

Instead it works exactly the other way, people see the new concepts fast , try to percieve it as fast as they can instead of taking time to understand and ask the experts about it. Then they go and use it in their own fashion and then when they don' see results well then the blame game starts.

This is what almost most new innovators and thinkers and inventors have to go through and if things go right then somehow the concept is welcomed and if things don't turn out then they are washed away.

In the Business World when Fred Reicheld introduced the Net Promoter Score or the NPS it created shockwaves in the corporate and business world.As usual people started playing the perception and the blame game as well. But hats off to to Fred Reicheld that his concept and system was accepted by the big corporates in the US and things moved very fast then. But in Australia for no apparent reason apart from the one i mentioned above people are still skeptical about it and worse is that they complain that it is not a working concept.

They use NPS in a wrong way without asking the experts and then when the results don't show up then the blame it like anything.

NPS talked about importance of customer loyalty and how it can be extremely important in deciding the growth of business. It is like building a Loyalty Business Model.

So with anything complex you want to learn or implement it is necessary to first accept an expert and then learn from him completely and then implement it correctly with guidance from the experts and then after you are well versed and know the hidden secrets and bottle necks then you might do it yourself alone.

I am aware that Pure and Great Entrepreneurship thrives on experiments and risks and courageous decision, i fully agree with this. But what is the point of arguing with and finding flaw with the guy who has created the concept , there are 2 ways about it, you accept it & ask him to explain, or fight & argue and not accept it :) you decide what to do.

This is where intuition and open mindedness really helps and might help you make the right decision.

I admit doing alone sometimes might show a new perspective and ideas but it just has too much risk and a very low probability of success compared to the 1st option.

Thus it is important to do things correctly then evaluate its potential rather than do it wrongly and blame it like anything.Net Promoter Score has helped many businesses and has improved their operations and made them more customer focused and also helped businessses grow at abut 2 times the industry average, thus it is safe to conclude that net promoter score works but if done rightly. the above article by chris roberts makes it very clear.
